Secret Cities: The Architecture And Planning Of The Manhattan Project was a temporary exhibition at the National Building Museum which ran from March 2018 – July 2019. The exhibition explored the highly classified effort to produce the atomic bomb, focusing on 3 “secret cities” that were built to accommodate the people who worked on the project. Pure+Applied worked with the NBM team across different elements of the exhibition including; conceptual development, floorplan and elevation design, case layouts, graphic identity and system design and exhibition graphics.
